Day 363! TWO more days until I’ve hit a full year of traveling!! Wow… and only 4 more days until I should be able to stop wearing my moon boot. Which should ALSO mean getting to surf and swim again! Today I spent my day off relaxing inside and outside. Hopefully on my next one, my boot will be off and I can spend it hanging out on the beach with friends!
I woke up this morning to my alarm at 9am… and then promptly fell back asleep for another 30 minutes. Work has been pretty tiring with all the late nights, but I feel like lying around during the day has made me tired too! I’m looking forward to actually being able to do things with my free time once I stop having to wear my moon boot.
I made myself breakfast and realized I was running very low on groceries. I’ll definitely need to do a grocery order soon! After breakfast I put my clothes into the washing machine. Work has been very hot lately and with busier nights, I’ve been getting covered in drinks a lot more.
I spent the morning playing guitar and watching more tv. And around noon I FaceTimed my parents to catch up on our week. I had already spoken to them a couple times over the phone this week for my dad’s birthday, but it’s always nice to chat with them!

I made myself my classic tuna wrap lunch after the call. And by this point… I had forgotten about my clothes in the washer. So once I finished eating, I threw them into the dryer and waited for it to finish.
I folded my clothes and then got ready to head out for the afternoon. I grabbed my chair, book, and made my way up the hill to the park I like to sit and read in at the moment.

The weather was gorgeous today and I was welcomed with a beautiful view of the ocean. There were a lot of families out enjoying the main beach today too! Very soon, I’ll be enjoying the beach and the ocean again too!! Only a few more days!!
After two hours of reading, I made my way back home. I dropped my stuff off and then immediately set back out to the local grocer to get food for lunch over the next few days. Since I work night shifts I don’t need food for dinner during my work days. Which is nice because it makes grocery shopping a little less urgent!
I texted some friends to see if they wanted to hang out after dinner and they said they’d shoot me a text when they were free… but I never heard anything from them. So I heated up a frozen pizza, ate dinner, and relaxed at home for the rest of the night. I just watched more tv, I would’ve liked to hang out with people but… at least I saved money not spending on drinks at the hotel.
Tomorrow I’ll be working a very long shift because… it’s New Year’s Eve! How crazy is that?! Where has the time gone… it’s almost 2025!! This year has been pretty incredible and I can’t wait to see what next year has in store, but for now, I’ll be enhancing everyone’s celebration in Yamba as we countdown the clock to the new year.
