Day 346! Well, it’s been just under 3 weeks since I fractured my foot and it’s honestly brought me down in the dumps. All I want to do is go to the beach, surf, swim in the ocean… but I can’t right now. I’ve let this hold me in my room, but today, I finally changed that!
I woke up this morning to my alarm naturally at 9am. I decided to turn my alarm off and just let myself sleep until I wanted to get up today.
I hopped (very carefully to not hurt my foot) out of bed and made myself breakfast.

While I was eating, I received an email from Safetywing saying that my claim had been approved! The fracture clinic wouldn’t provide me with much information because of it being a “public institution” (not sure what that has to do with anything. But thankfully the one document they would give me was enough to satisfy my insurance. So far we’re 2/2 with claims!

Since I forgot to do my laundry yesterday, I made sure I did it first thing after breakfast. While I waited for it to finish, I played some guitar and watched some more My Hero Academia.
But, today… I decided I wasn’t going to let my fractured foot hold me back. I’ve been missing sitting near the beach, so I was going to go do just that!
I lathered on my sunscreen, packed up my backpack and set out into the bright, hot day.

I ended up deciding to not go all the way down to the ocean, but to sit at a picnic table in the shade at the top of the hill. There’s not much shade at the beach and staying at the top of the hill cut my extra hill climbing for the day.
It was a gorgeous day out and I read for 2.5 hours! There were tons of people out enjoying the weather, eating lunch, and walking their dogs. The birds were out in numbers too and I got many visits by curious birds thinking I was eating food at the picnic table.
Eventually, after hitting page 600 of this book, I decided it was time for lunch and to head back home.

I was proud of myself for kicking out the funk today. This fracture has been such an inconvenience and has put a damper on my mood. But I can change that if I want to!! I just need to get the motivation, like today, more often.

Lunch today was none other than tuna wraps! I’m still not sick of them yet.
After lunch, I went back to watching more My Hero Academia before it was time for work!
Work today was the first day it felt like the summer rush was here. The entire night was busy, except for maybe a couple hours. I ended up working from 5pm to midnight and had a blast during our crazy Friday night rush. There was a really good live band playing, which made work even more enjoyable and after I wrapped up, it turned out I destroyed everyone again at pumping out drinks.
Not to toot my own horn too much, but I’m glad my hard work is being noticed!
Before the night finished though, I had my 30 minute break.

The chefs were nice to me tonight! They loaded up my lamb roast with tons of meat, potatoes, and green beans! It honestly was too much, so I boxed it up and put it in our cool room… which I forgot it in when I clocked off. Hopefully it’s still there tomorrow!
I had a knockoff beer and played a game of pool against one of my coworkers. He then gave me a ride home and it was time for bed!
Today was a great day! I’m very happy that I got out of the house and enjoyed the weather as much as I could. I’m hoping I can keep this momentum and get out tomorrow too!
