Day 342! Another day of not being able to do too much because of my foot… but only 24 days till I get new X-rays that should say I don’t need the boot anymore! Let the countdown begin! I still had a very nice day even without the beach.
After a bunch of late nights, I felt like I needed (and deserved) a lie in. So I had set my alarm for 9am instead of the usual 8:30am. By this point, the sun was up and I had slept enough, so I got out of bed to get my day going.
I didn’t have work until 4pm today, so I had the entire morning and early afternoon to do whatever I wanted!
I woke up on this rainy day to some terrible news… KU lost to Mizzou (our rival) in BASKETBALL! Mizzou hasn’t beat KU in basketball since 2012… devastating loss, glad I didn’t watch it.

The first thing I did after breakfast was play some guitar. Since I didn’t go jamming last night, I was wanting to get some practice in. I also really enjoy playing the acoustic guitar and playing the songs I like to play. When we’re jamming, we have to play each others favorite songs or songs better suited for jamming!
After I finished up, I FaceTimed my parents!

We had, as always, a very lovely weekly catch up! There’s not a ton new going on in my world right now, but there was still plenty to talk about!
After that great way to start my day, I capped off my morning by reading until lunchtime! I’m 35% of the way through this book and plenty of twists and turns are already happening… and plenty of cliff hangers too!

After lunch, I watched the last episode of Demon Slayer! It was a phenomenal series and there’ll be 3 more movies coming out for it before it’s all wrapped up. I’m looking forward to, hopefully, seeing them in theaters! I’m hoping it’s out at a time I can go see it with my cousins who also have watched the show.
4pm rolled around and it was time to waddle up the hill to work. Thankfully the downpour had lightened up a ton, and it was now just misting out. I brought my raincoat just in case, but, of course, I didn’t need it in the end.
We had 4 of us working this Monday night and realistically we probably only needed 2… maybe 3. But 4 was definitely pushing it for how “busy” it was. Nonetheless, we found ways to stay busy and had a nice time chatting to each other.
We’ve also recently started allowing dogs back in the beer garden (smoking section) of our hotel. And one of my coworkers, who wasn’t working, brought their dog and she was very adorable! It’s very nice having dogs around while working.
I only had a 4 hour shift tonight and 8pm rolled around before I knew it.

Just before I clocked off, I ordered some Japanese fried chicken (not exactly sure what makes it Japanese). It came just as I was finishing up my shift and I asked the chefs to put some of the hot sauce I like on it. It was super tasty and the reason I did this instead of going home and cooking, was because I promised Paddy I’d go jamming with him after work!
We had a solid crew come with us to the jam shed. Paddy, Bella, and Sam were the regular part of the crew but then my manager (their father), two of his friends, and another one of my coworkers came too!

I played guitar for most of the night but I also played a bit of bass too! We played all different genres and tempos of songs, main sticking to the rock variety. But it was a blast as always! To have a group of people that want to make music and also listen to people make music is awesome!
We played and played and played and before we knew it, it was well past midnight! So… another late night for me!
Luckily I don’t work until the evening again, so I’ll be able to sleep in and read more! Not being able to take advantage of the beach for another few weeks is frustrating, but January will be here before I know it. And once it is… I’ll be in the water every day I can be!!
