Day 338! If you haven’t been following along till now (welcome!) or missed a few days, I unfortunately fractured my right foot while surfing a week and a half ago… time flies! Life in Australia has become a bit uneventful since then but it’s given me a chance to step back and just relax. I’ll get back to learning to surf soon enough. Today, I spent the day relaxing and enjoying the day off from work.
Last night, I slept with my moon boot off for the first night since my fracture. I was told I probably didn’t need to wear it at night, since the fracture is on top of my foot. But I’ve been a bit nervous to not wear it because I tend to move around a lot in my sleep.
But I took the chance and propped my foot up without the boot… and it worked out great! I slept a ton better and even with moving around, my foot stayed propped up. Also when I woke up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, I was able to easily, and quickly, put my moon boot on.
With a good nights sleep, I woke up to my alarm at 8:30am and slowly got ready for my day.

I woke up to some texts from my friends from home and around the world. Spotify wrapped came out and everyone was sharing their music stats from this year.

I actually didn’t listen to much music this year! I was surprised… I just have been busy with other activities whole out on the road! Also while motorbiking across Vietnam and Laos I didn’t listen to any music. But, unsurprisingly, Still Woozy was the artist I listened to the most! It’s been that way since 2020 I believe!
These messages led to chatting with friends I hadn’t spoken to in a while, which was a VERY pleasant way to start my lazy day.
Since I had the day off, I did a load of laundry, including the fabric part of my moon boot… after a week and a half of wearing it constantly, it definitely needed a wash. Because of this, I was going to spend most of the day in bed.
I spent my morning finishing up another season of Demon Slayer. The episodes are very quick and easy to binge through and the show being very good helps as well. When I wrapped that up, I made myself a late lunch.

After eating, I sat myself on the edge of my bed and strummed away on the guitar for a while. It was a hot day outside and not as windy as it has been, so I worked up a sweat while playing.
I took a midday shower, which cooled me off, propped my leg back up in my bed, and then cracked open my latest book. This book is the third one of the Stormlight Archives, called Oathbringer. I was super excited to start reading this one because the first two had been absolutely captivating.
I almost ended up devouring 100 pages of this incredible fantasy book. So far, this one was living up to the first 2! But the sun was setting and I was starting to get hungry, so I heated up leftovers for dinner.

I then spent the rest of the night relaxing more. I read a bit longer till the lighting got bad in my room for it and then watched a bit more Demon Slayer before calling it a night.

Tomorrow I’ll be heading down to Grafton. My friend Will is going to drive me, which is super nice of him! I also heard from my friend Sammy in Melbourne today. It sounds like he’ll he stopping by Yamba to visit after Christmas time! I’m definitely looking forward to seeing him and showing him this new town I’ve fallen in love with!
Let’s hope for some good news tomorrow!!
