Hanging out with friends outside of work, in Yamba

Day 333! Another chill day in Yamba. I got to hang out with friends, new friends, and enjoy an afternoon off. Outside of that, it was a very chill, rainy day in Yamba

I woke up this morning at my usual time of 8:30am… I honestly didn’t realize I worked at 11am instead of 12pm. So I sat in bed and watched a couple episodes of Demon Slayer, before realizing I needed to get up and have breakfast before work.

I ended up having the perfect amount of time to eat and head up the hill. It was clear skies at the time I heard to work, but I could tell we were in for a rainy day.

Because of the weather, the bar was super quiet over the lunch period. My shift was from 11am-3pm… but it ended up only being till 2:30pm because of how slow it was.

My shift this morning was pretty excruciatingly slow. But at the end of my shift, my manager told me there was a high likelihood he needed me tonight. One of Yamba’s most popular bands was playing at the pub, so there was a chance it was busy.

After work I headed home and made myself lunch.

After I devoured my tuna wraps, I laid down in bed and watched some TV for a the next bit. I ended up getting a text from my friend Will asking if I wanted to go to the Yamba distillery with his friends.

I said yes, knowing I had the potential of working the night shift. But by this time it was raining and I had a feeling they wouldn’t need me at the bar tonight.

I had a nice time at the distillery, hanging out with Will, Pat, Clancey, and their friends. There have surrounded themselves with some very nice people, so it was easy to hang out and meet all of them. One of them was from Canada!

While we were at the distillery, the weather turned very rainy. Since I had the potential of woke, Will drove me home, where I feasted on cucumber and hummus, and then 45 minutes later, I found out I wasn’t working tonight. I guess the rain scared people off.

Instead of working, I met back up with Will and we found his friends at the local Bowlo. After one beer at the bowlo, we made our way up the hill, through the rain, and to BRGR Spot which is right across the street from where I work.

We had a decent crew with us, but we ran into a bunch of people they knew and that I knew as well! I’m starting to feel like a local.

After dinner, we made our way to the pub and I was instantly let in. Perks of working at the bar, the guards know me!

The rest of the night was spent hanging with friends, listening to Will’s friend play in his bar, and then walk home in the rain.

By the time I got home, the rain was still rampaging on. It’s a bit unfortunate, that this is the weather we are getting. But it’s not the end of the world.
