Day 291! Time for another night out in Melbourne! But before we get to that, I finished up the book I was reading and enjoyed the beautiful day we had in the nearby park with friends. It was another great day in the city.
After a late night, it was time to sleep in. I was exhausted after dancing my night away and I was very happy I was able to sleep in today… since some days it’s been difficult with the sun creeping through.
Unlike yesterday, it looked like it was going to be a gorgeous day, so I got out of bed around 10:30am and made my way to shower.
The kitchen closes for cleaning at 11am, and I unfortunately finished getting ready at that time. So I skipped breakfast and went to the TV room to devour the rest of my book instead.

Over the span of a few weeks I’ve designated these very large books. And today I finished the second part of the first book! It was incredible… and I’m eager to get my hands on the hard copy of the next book of the series. It would be nice to have before my long travel journey coming up, but I do have the audio book on deck just in case!
12:30pm rolled around and I had finished up reading and playing some guitar. So I headed over to the now open kitchen and made myself a big lunch.

After eating, I joined my friends Immy and Lewis outside to enjoy the sun while they had a tea. We sat outside for a bit basking in the rays. Then someone suggested we go to the park, so we gathered our things and headed over.

I mainly played guitar, but I also brought a book along just in case. My friend Charlie had a copy of the first Dune book, which I’ve been looking for ever since passing it up in a hostel in Laos. I didn’t get around to reading it, but I did play some soccer with my friends who came with to the park.
The weather today was very odd… but I guess typical Melbourne. When the sun was out, it felt scorching hot. But when the sun went behind a cloud, it got really chilly, quickly. So it was a lot of putting on and taking off the sweatshirt.
After spending a number of hours at the park, I went back to the hostel to grab a quick snack and get ready for the nights festivities.

Tonight, a bunch of us were going to St. Kilda to enjoy another night out for a friend of a friend’s birthday. We had a very large crew hanging out and it was a really pleasant time.

Most of the people at this bar were dressed in suits and dresses… which was odd. But then we remembered it was one of the days of the horse races going on this weekend.
We hung out at the Esplanade for a while and eventually my friend Lewis came to join… but the bouncer didn’t like that he was wearing sweatpants. So we all left to go to another bar to enjoy one last beer before bed.

I was exhausted by this point and ready for bed. But my friends still wanted to stay out. So I said my see you laters and made my way to the nearest tram spot.
On my way back, I was nodding off on the tram. Thankfully, I made it all the way back without falling asleep! But I still had to stay up a little bit longer.
My debit card was sent to my friend Sam’s house. Luckily, he was out and about in Fitzroy, so he swung by to drop it off for me! Not having my debit card for the future would’ve been annoying. So I’m glad that the timing worked out.
Tomorrow I’m planning on not doing much. I need a relaxing recovery day after two long nights out!
