Day 263! As my time draws close to an end staying with Sam and his family, I thought why not whip out my cooking skills and bring Sam one of my favorite meals to cook, a quesadilla! Outside of that, it was a really lowkey day, so prepare for a short post 🙂
After a late night out, it was time to sleep in! I slept until 10am, which was very much needed.
When I got up, Sam was at work. So I cracked open my book and started devouring more of the Way of Kings part one. I’m already sucked into this book, the author, Brandon Sanderson, does a great job at world building while also progressing the story right from the get go. Thanks Ben for the suggestion!
I also spent some of the morning applying to random hospitality jobs. We’ll see if anything sticks, but once I’m back downtown I’ll hit the streets again and go door to door with my resume. I think that’ll be the best way to eventually land a gig.
Sam eventually came home from coaching tennis and we headed downstairs for some lunch. He suggested quesadillas without knowing they were one of my favorite meals and one of my favorites to cook. So I whipped out my chef hat and cooked us up some mean quesadillas.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had the chance to cook, let alone make quesadillas. They really are one of my favorite meals and as good as the Taco Shack ones were, there’s nothing quite like eating a meal you’ve made.
I do miss the really cheap and big Taco Shack ones though…
After lunch I went to my room to take a nap and read more of my book. I then joined Sam in playing some more guitar. It was a really chilled out afternoon with not much going on.
One of the things that excited me the most about coming to Australia was being able to go to concerts again! There aren’t many musicians I listen to that tour SE Asia… and they for sure weren’t coming to Koh Tao. But in Australia, even with being on the opposite side of the world, musicians I really enjoy listening to come and tour!
I was able to get really cheap tickets to two upcoming concerts, but you’ll find out who soon enough!
One of Sam’s extended family members came by in the afternoon to pick up a bed frame. So I assisted Sam in helping load, unload, and carry it up into his relatives house. Couldn’t go through the entire day without leaving the house!
Sam and his family were going to the ballet tonight, so we had an early dinner of chicken curry.

They headed out and I decided to stay in to read more of my book. After reading over 100 pages of the book, I called it a night!
Not much went on today, but that’s okay! I doubt much will go on tomorrow either but come Monday, I’ll be moving downtown and I’m sure plenty will be going on! Hopefully tomorrow I’ll hear about the gelato job… I guess we’ll see what happens!
