A lazy day off from diving

Day 195! It was a long night, which means I’m not going to be doing a lot today… BUT you still are going to hear from me! Only 5 more days till day 200 🙂

Well… to be honest, I didn’t go to bed till around 9am. I had a wonderful night hanging out with friends! Unfortunately, England didn’t win, but we could still have a good time nonetheless.

So, I slept for rest of the morning.

I finally decided to get up around 1pm to eat. I walked over to Taco Shack and got a chicken pad gra pow, which made a nice start to my day.

While eating, I chatted with the hostel owner about life and current events happening in the world. I don’t get to chat with him often, so it was nice to have the opportunity to, but I also was insanely tired and was wanting to go back to sleep.

At the first opportunity I could, after I finished eating, I made my way back to my room and went back to sleep.

I woke myself up again around 6pm… I at least got 8 hours-ish of sleep in! But it was now dinner time. I walked back to Taco and saw the manager, Yi, eating a bowl of noodle soup. I immediately started craving that as well and went to the food stand he got it from down the road.

I hadn’t been to this stand before, which made it even better since I was getting to try a new “restaurant” out.

This was a pretty basic noodle soup for 100 Baht, but it was insanely tasty! It had been a while since I had a noodle soup and I definitely need to have it more often. I miss the cheap pho in Vietnam or the random food stands in the night markets on the mainland of Thailand.

The chicken in this soup was literally falling off the bone and the broth was extremely tasty! This meal was a nice change of pace from the Taco Shack meals (which aren’t bad, I’ve just been eating them a lot).

After my nice dinner alone, I made my way back to my room to FaceTime my parents!

We had a lovely and long call, catching up on everything they’ve been reading about in the blog posts and hearing about what they’ve been up to too! I always love chatting with them!!

After we wrapped up chatting, I went back to Taco to fill up my water before going to bed. Buttttt I got sucked into a pool game with one of the hostel employees.

It was a fun game and it was nice to have a little social interaction before hitting the hay!

Tomorrow Kit and I will be assisting a stress and rescue course. Now that we’ve already completed ours, it’ll be a bit of a different experience, so I’m looking forward to seeing what it entails and how it goes!
