Day 94! It’s great being back in Pai. Today I got to participate in something I didn’t get to last time, Pai tipsy tubing! It ended up being a long afternoon, but I had a blast with my friends while making new ones as well! Sorry for the late post. I was waiting for pictures!
I woke up with some energy this morning and got my day going before 9am! Being back in Pai has already made me very happy.
With this energy I decided to hit the gym. I found one a 10 minute walk down the road, so I headed out to get a workout in.

The sun was already very hot… but what was even worse was the smog! It wasn’t really messing with my breathing, but I could feel the smoke in my eyes. The weather is completely different from when I was here during rainy season.
The gym was full of all the equipment I needed. It was a bit on the older size but it did the trick. I did a good push day workout and I felt accomplished getting in a workout again.

After finishing, I walked back to my hostel and grouped up with my friends to get breakfast as a group. We actually ended up going to a restaurant called Nong Beer, which was one I frequented last time I was here.
The food was the same and as good as I remembered… but the prices had gone up! It was only really 10-20 Baht more on some dishes, but it seems inflation hit Thailand unfortunately.

We finished eating and headed back to our hostel to wait for our Tuk Tuk to pick us up.
Two times a week, Pai has a ginormous tipsy tubing event down the jungle river. Luckily enough, we were in town for today’s so we decided to book it as our activity of the day!
The Tuk Tuk came and we piled on for an afternoon of sun bathing, chatting, and meeting new people.

The tubing stopped off at 3 bars along the river, with DJs, dancing, and even some soccer. The first one was a quick 15-20 minute raft ride down the river to the hostel I stayed at last year, Revolution Pai.
We danced to some music, chatted, and then headed back out onto the river for the next leg of the float.

The next stop was another quick, but fun, float down the river to a bar/DJ set up looking over the river. It was another fun stop but we were itching to get back to tubing (what we paid for). So we went back into our tubes and waited for the rest of the floaters to head on.

For the last leg, my friend Dan made a friend with a locals dog. We also had to get out and walk along a dried up section of the river to keep going.
It overall was a great way to spend the day, but my crew agreed that our tubing in Vang Vieng was much better. This was because the river we were in seemed a little wastewater-y and there were around 300 people, so we got stuck behind groups or beached because you got pushed to a shallow spot.
Over all though, I’d highly recommend it because it was a blast. Also, last time I was in Pai the river was too high to do it! So I was glad to get the chance to do it this time around.
We got back to our hostel and immediately showered and set out for dinner. We hadn’t eaten a meal since breakfast so we were feeling pretty ravenous.

We started our food journey of the night with 6 gyozas from none other than Gyoza Queen! I’m obsessed with these and they are just as good as when I was last here. I’m sure I’ll be eating this just about every night here.
We kept wandering around looking for where to eat. The night market wasn’t that busy tonight so we walked back to Nong Beer and enjoyed another delicious meal there.

The sun and heat zapped my energy out of me. I ended up calling it a night after dinner to hopefully enjoy a full nights sleep.
I’m not sure what my plan will be tomorrow, but I’m sure it’ll be another nice day in this town I love so much!
