Day 69! I’ll just give a warning here… I’m going to talk a bit about what I’ve been going through. So if you’re squeamish to anything about bowel movements… this day isn’t for you. BUT, it’s what I’ve truly been going through unfortunately.
Welp… eating that dinner was a huge mistake. Very early in the morning I woke up and absolutely hurled my guts out. I haven’t puked like this in a very very long time. And when I was done, guess what came next? Yup… the opposite direction.
Throughout the early morning I was in and out of sleep, disoriented, puking, pooping, and then back to sleep. It was a vicious cycle that I went through for almost the entire morning.
At one point the owners heard and came knocking on my door to ask if I was okay. I thanked them and told them no, I most likely had food poisoning. There wasn’t much for them to do so we all went back to bed.
Thankfully the puking ended up subsiding for a bit but every time I drank a little water it pretty much came back up in one direction or the other.
I texted my friend Charolette that I wouldn’t be joining them for today’s activities and asked her if she could grab me something with electrolytes! After a bit of waiting, I received a nice cold can of 7Up!

It’s actually been a really long time since I’ve had a soda, so I wasn’t the biggest fan. But I knew I needed to drink it. So over the course of the rest of the day I sipped on it.
I was in and out of sleep and the toilet for the rest of the morning and finally mustered up the courage to go get a big cold bottle of water and a couple bananas. The only bananas they had were small brown ones for smoothies, but they were nice and cold and I actually was able to keep them down!
I then went back and slept for a while, moving around in different positions, trying to get comfy. The day was insanely hot, getting up to just under 100 degrees Fahrenheit (around 38 degrees Celsius).
Even with the heat, I finally hit a point where I started feeling a bit normal again! So I decided to venture over to the restaurant again to meet up with Charolette and eat a bowl of plain rice.

It was nice to get some person to person interaction in for the day since I’d just been laying in my bed doing nothing. But the rice seemed to be a mistake as it made me start to feel ill again.
I went back to my room where I laid down for a bit more and then took a nice, long, cold shower! The shower felt very nice but my banana peels attracted a whole army of red ants into the bathroom which was not fun.
After the shower, I went back to lying down for the evening and ended up staying there the rest of the night!
I really hope this passes tomorrow but I’ll be hanging out in this town until I’m feeling 100%!!
Sorry for the gross details, but it’s a part of solo traveling in South East Asia!
Love you all!
