A day of productivity and relaxation in Hoi An

Day 62! I am a big fan of Hoi An and I’m having a blast hanging out here. I definitely made the right choice in coming back here and spending a decent amount of time in this town.

After a nice day of relaxing, it was time to be a bit more productive!

So after waking up at 8:30am and eating another nice breakfast of pancakes, fruit, and an egg Banh Mi. I road into town for an errand I needed to run!

My friend Immy from England needed to go into town too for a tailor appointment. So I offered to give her a ride since I was going anyways!

I dropped Immy off and did a quick Google search to find a place nearby to do what I was looking for and found one 350 meters from where I was!

So I headed over to a photocopy store to get my passport photo copied! This is something I’ll need to cross into Laos and future land visas to come.

For 20,000 Dong, I got 12 copies of my face that will hopefully work! We shall see in the next week or so!

I then headed back down a beautiful alleyway to pick up Immy to go search for a notebook for me and a sketchbook for her.

We were not successful so we just headed back to the hostel to hang out.

I was strumming on the guitar when someone asked me if I sang (sort of a Deja Vu moment from last time I was here). So I serenaded my friends and got some lovely compliments from them!

After playing for a while, I had lunch and continued chatting with the crew!

The rest of the day consisted of sitting on the beach! A group of us started a small bonfire and sat next to it chatting and listening to music for 4 hours!

It was a really nice way to spend the afternoon and evening. And we were able to watch the sun set since it was a perfectly clear night.

We continued to sit and hang out into the night as the stars came out.

I know I say this every time, but it just always amazes me how easy it is to hang out with “strangers” on the road! The people I’ve been hanging out with the past few days are insanely nice and fun to be around! It’s making me very happy that I decided to come back to Hoi An.

I then wandered to a nearby restaurant with a couple others for a late night bowl of beef pho.

While eating, the restaurant owners kids were very interested in hanging out with us. It was very cute to interact with them!

After eating, we made our way back to the hostel and continued to chat and play chess into the night!

I’m a big fan of this hostel. It’s a great place to be, but it also brings in a lot of amazing people that I’m getting to meet every day!

Tomorrow a group of us are planning to go on a hike, which I’m very much looking forward to. So for now I need to get some sleep and rest up for that!
