Day 27!
I started today very early because I was heading to a new city!

I got another breakfast of fried eggs and bread while I waited for my new friend Ben to get up!
Ben is also riding south to north and we decided to ride to Hoi An together!

I really enjoyed my stay at Life’s a Beach! I met some wonderful people and the hostel itself was just gorgeous!
If you’re ever in Vietnam I’d highly suggest checking this place out! I could’ve spent so much time here, but I wanted to continue exploring what the north of Vietnam has in store for me.

With that, Ben and I set off for our 6 hour drive!
I’m not going to lie, the drive started off terribly. We immediately got caught in rain and got absolutely drenched.
So we pulled off at the first gas station we could find (about 30 minutes into our drive) to escape the rain and fill up our tanks for the drive.

The forecast didn’t say rain so it was a bit unexpected. And for the first couple of hours it was raining on and off.
Eventually the rain stopped as we stopped again to fill up Ben’s tank. His bike can hold more fuel and our fill ups were alternate of each other. But that gave us more chances to stop and rest!
The ride began with city streets and turned into country roads! For a little bit we were winding through a mountain overlooking the ocean. But for the most part it was long straight highways with very little cars on them.

We pulled off 3 hours in in the city of Quang Ngai where we got a very yummy and cheap lunch!
It was VERY nice to get off the motorbike for a bit and rest. Usually I’d be nearing the end of my ride at the 3 hour mark. But for this ride this was just the halfway point!
The rest of the ride was very open roads with very little to see. It was nice to have no one around but it didn’t make for the most entertaining drive.
With around 10 minutes left of the ride Ben and I split off as we were staying at separate hostels.

I arrived at the Seaside Bungalow hostel on the beach of Hoi An!
Immediately I was met with welcoming travelers and very nice hosts. And after settling in I was invited to go to the beach with some other hostel goers!

I ended up sitting on the beach with them for a few hours! We chatted and also all read or listened to books too.
I walked back before the others because it was a little chillier than I would want on the beach and wanted to go chill at the hostel!
Also because there were two guitars in the hostel and I wanted to get some playing in!
I ended up playing for a bit and actually had a group of people come sit around to hang and chat while I played! We ended up passing the guitar back and forth for a bit and then chatting for a few hours!

This hostel also has a lot of stray dogs and cats! They house them to make sure they don’t get eaten, hurt, etc! So there’s a lot of critters running around.
It was then time for dinner! I got Hoi An chicken and rice. I’m not exactly sure what makes it special to Hoi An, but it was very tasty!

For the rest of the night I chatted with other people in the hostel and got to meet people from all over the world!
This hostel is very chill and exactly what I wanted for my last beach hostel! I originally booked only one night but after arriving I immediately booked another just to make sure I could spend at least one more day here!

It was really nice having someone to ride with on my first 6 hour ride! It really makes it a lot easier knowing there’s someone along side you to chat with and in case something goes wrong!
I’m excited to see what Hoi An has in store for me! I’m not sure how long I’ll stay here but I have a feeling I’ll be here longer than most other places so far!
