Day 20!

It’s crazy how fast time is flying! Only 10 days left till I travel home 😮 I’m honestly having the time of my life and not really ready for it to be over yet. But 10 days is still a good amount!

Day 20 started out with me finding out the hostel I was at didn’t have a bed for me that day (downsides of booking a hostel day by day). So instead of waking up, booking another night, and going back to sleep, I had to get my day going and figure out where I was going to stay.

Luckily I ended up finding a hostel two doors down so I could still be around the friends I just made! I checked out of my hostel and they gave me a cute little key chain for staying with them!

I was very impressed with this hostel and was sad to leave such nice staff!

I then went and checked into my new hostel and it’s basically the same set up as the other one. Beds in the dorm and then the door leads straight out onto the street!

After checking in I wandered to go get breakfast! Along the way I stopped and got my ferry ticket to Railay Beach for tomorrow! I’ve heard many good things about Railay so I’m very excitead to go check it out! I went to the same cheap restaurant as the day before and got a wonderful fried glass noodles with tofu and a mango smoothie.

I think the mango smoothie had milk in it… but otherwise it was good!

After breakfast I wandered back to my hostel and got changed into my swimsuit, grabbed my towel, and headed out to the beach! None of my new friends were up so I just sat by myself and enjoyed the views!

I was there for a few hours! It was very pleasant but was quite windy every so often. Which lead to a lot of sand being flung in my face. My time was cut a bit short as a big rain storm came through!

I took this as my sign to head home and shower. So I walked home barefoot and shirtless through the rain 😅

I was starting to get hungry again, so I went back to the same restaurant and this time got garlic stir fried chicken which was exceptional!

After eating I met up with the squad I hung out with the night before. They were hanging out on the beach and we sat there enjoying the views and chit chatting for about an hour before another rain storm came through. We then went to a restaurant because they were hungry. I ended up getting a veggie Pad Thai too 🤪

This is when a hugggeee rainstorm came though. We ended up getting stuck in the restaurant for a good hour longer than we had wanted to. But the rain never let up so we walked back in the down pour. When we got back to the street with our hostels, we found it absolutely flooded.

A group of us from the night before ended up going out again! It was a fun night but I ended up calling it on the “earlier” side!

Lots of fun things to do at night in Phi Phi but I’m looking forward to moving on tomorrow!

Glad you were able to experience Phi Phi. Will you be stopping anywhere near an elephant sanctuary?

Originally I was planning to! But I couldn’t find one that I thought hit my ethical threshold (a lot claim they do things but then don’t). I did hear about one you can volunteer multiple days at (that’s not touristy), so maybe next time when I have a longer trip I will!

Sounds like a peaceful day on the island! Hopefully the weather clears up the rest of the trip.

Yeah I’m hoping so too! I had a feeling it’d be pretty rainy but I’m wanting to enjoy these beaches and islands!
