Day 19 started off with a lovely full night of sleep! There was only one other person in my 6 person dorm, which made for a nice final day of rest as I head into what I’ve heard is a big party island!

I packed up my things and checked out of sleepy station. I tried to go to my favorite restaurant one last time for breakfast… but they were closed 🥲 I was a bit disappointed but when I turned back around I saw a food cart on the corner and went over to investigate!

This lovely Pad Thai was only 80 Baht and was verrry good! I ended up eating it in the lobby of Sleepy Station (the hostel I was at) and then wandered back to 7-11 to pick up a few things before I went to Koh Phi Phi Island!

I then called a Bolt driver to take me to Rassada Pier. This is where my ferry would take me to Phi Phi! The cab drive over led to some beautiful views too!

I then arrived at Rassada Pier where I wandered through the different gates to find my check in.

I ended up getting there a bit earlier than I had meant to (about 1.5 hours early). But I ended up passing the time talking to a nice guy, Ahmed from Syria (now living in Dubai)! He had been in Phuket for 14 days and loved every day of it 😅
Eventually it was time to finally board the ferry to Phi Phi! It’s been a few years since I’ve been on a ferry, I think the last one was in 2019 when I was visiting my friend Jason in San Francisco!

This ferry was very spacious and I had a whole row to myself! I also got up and wandered around the the ship during the journey. There was some outside areas to sit in and I even sat at the front of the ship for a bit 🤪

After a nice 2 hour boat ride, we arrived to Phi Phi island!

Right as you step off the boat you need to pay 20 baht for an island pass. And then you step into the main tourist junction! Lots of people wanting to give you a taxi or boat ride and lotsss of small touristy shops!

I walked through all the madness towards my hostel. It started to drizzle on my walk over but eventually I made it to my hostel and was greeted by a very sweet host!

Immediately after checking in I met a couple people in my dorm room who were all very friendly! One was from holland and the rest were from the US!

It sounds like there’s a lot of fun things to do at night in Phi Phi which I was excited to check out! But first I needed to go get lunch! Lola told me about a cheap spot that had great food, so I went on the hunt for it!

While eating it started to pour down rain. I tried to wait it out but I was unsuccessful. So I ended up getting soaked on my walk back. But when I got back to my hostel I ended up meeting a crew of people and we all started chatting!

The hostel here provides a bunch of free things. They have bottle water for us, cookies, toast and jelly, and also a ton of fresh fruit! I tried my first mangosteen and a few other fruits I don’t know the names of but where fun to eat!

While chatting with this new crew, they said they wanted to go check out one of the view points on the Island! It was a nice walk to a very steep set of stairs… like a lot of steep stairs 😂 but it was definitely worth the climb!

There was a path to a second even high view point, so we ascended some more stairs to go check it out!

We got really lucky because the rain stopped for our hike and we actually got to see a bit of the sun set! It was such a gorgeous view, but we saw a storm rolling in so we headed down! And then by the time we got to our hostel it was pouring rain again!
After getting dry, we ended up regrouping and walked to a nearby little market for dinner!

After dinner we went straight to the partying! We started our night in an Irish “Pub” (more like just a regular bar). But there was lots of singing, some strong buckets, and lots of soccer being played on the TVs!

We then ventured to a Muay Thai bar that wasn’t for professionals. If you volunteered to fight you got a free drink… and some of these guys were going as hard as possible! It was definitely an interesting experience that I was fine being on the sideline for.

There eventually was a more “professional” fight and that was very impressive! But then we moved on to the beach party which was in full swing! This was my first time getting to be on the beach here and it was very cool! It’s a giant cove so the water is very still and beautiful even in the night!

It ended up being a lovely (very late) night! Looking forward to doing it all again tomorrow 🤪
