Day 12 started out with a bike ride into the city center for breakfast! I’m really enjoying biking around and it’s starting to feel very comfortable. I’m glad I finally learned!

Lola and I ended up going to a restaurant we’ve already been to called Baan Pai, which is really good. We both got Thai Basil dishes too! I’m a big fan of any Thai Basil dish, the flavors are amazing and they’re very filling!

After breakfast we went straight into our adventure for the day! Nearby our bungalow there’s a hiking trail through a jungle river that leads to a waterfall! All the reviews of the hike said they loved it.
When we approached, there was a sign saying to be careful of flash flooding but we decided to go anyways. We were truly the only ones on this hike and it was quite lovely. Minus the few bites/stings from plants and bugs and the mugginess it was beautiful!

We unfortunately didn’t make it to the waterfall. Since there’s been heavy rains the river was super hard to walk through, which added a lot of time to our hike. On top of that it was starting to rain again and we wanted to get back before dark so we decided to cut our losses and head back! It was still a gorgeous hike and I’d highly suggest it.
Lots of beautiful trees, plants, and some really cool bugs too that Lola was enjoying looking at.

After we got back, we showered and got ready for the evening. Pai has been very consistent (for the most part) and almost every time we go out for dinner it starts to drizzle 😂 but we drove to town and got some yummy food!

We got more gyozas from our favorite stand, Gyoza Queen! This time we added cheese to them… it was nice to try but honestly better without unfortunately. We ended up eating on the side of the walking street to get out of the rain and it was lovely people watching and listening to the rain patter onto the street and roof above.

After our late dinner we went back to our bungalow and called it a night. I’m excited for my adventure down south but I’m very sad to be parting ways with Lola in a few days!
