Day 11!

Day 11 started off on a bit of a somber note. After a lovely night out, we were all a bit hungover. However, today was the day that our squad, that had been hanging out for a week and a half straight, was splitting up 😢

Lola and I weren’t planning on leaving yet, but we got up on the earlier side to say see ya later. It’s really really strange getting so close to people that you may never see again. But I don’t think any of these people are goodbyes, I have a feeling they’ll pop back into my life at some point in the future!

Lola and I then went to go pack our things because we were planning on leaving the hostel (just not leaving Pai)! It was a bit odd just being us two, but we get along really well and enjoy each others company!

After packing we needed to figure out our plan for the day. So we ventured into town to find food and discuss a plan (and decide where we’re going to stay next).

I hadn’t had pad Thai in a while so I got that, Lola got a dish called Morning Glory with a fried egg

We wandered around for a bit and then decided to go check out the Chinese village that is just outside of Pai! But since I just learned how to ride a moped, it was time to ride on my first excursion!

The Chinese village was gorgeous and so picturesque. I don’t know too much about it’s history or why it’s there, but there was a bunch of pretty buildings, farms, and also a lot of little shops.

After wandering around we decided to venture up a steep road to a VERY beautiful overlook of Pai.

After Lola finished with her stretching and I finished with a bit of meditation we took the steep trek down the hill and back to revolution hostel, where our stuff was being stored.

We grabbed lunch as well. Lola and I have made a list of foods each other need to try and one of the ones she wanted me to try was Banh Mi!

We ended up splitting this sandwich! It was huge and only 100 Baht (super good too)

We decided to stay in another cheep bungalow a little further from the city to enjoy the nature side of Pai! So after eating we headed off to our new home for the night!

We were very excited that it had a porch and a hammock!

It’s very interesting living day to day not exactly sure where you’re going to end up for the night. But it has lead to some really cool stays and great memories!

After settling in, we ventured back into town for the night! We wandered the streets and found some fun food and jewelry! I think there was a night market going on because the streets were a lot busier than the past few days!

Lola suggested I try a Roti with flossy chicken and chili sauce. Apparently Thai locals love it!
Lola’s been trying to educate me about jewelry 😅
For dinner we found this really fun (and cheap) restaurant where we could sit on the floor and eat. Lola got glass noodles that were amazing (and allegedly her favorite dish she’s had) and I got a dish called “Special Noodles”

After dinner we ended up having a chill night where we spent time on our porch, talked about life, and just hung out. We both were pretty tired from the past week of partying so we called it an early night because the next day was going to be an adventurous one!

It seems like Lola is really knowledgeable about the food in Thailand. How long has she been there? Is this her first visit?

This is her first go around, she did do a month in the south of Thailand where she spent a week with a local thai family she randomly met. But she’s just full of fun facts!
