Day 10!

Sorry for the late post! Been a busy few days but I’m doing A-Okay! Day 10 was a very fun day so let’s dive into it!

Day 10 started off on the early side for me! I think I might still be a little jet lagged but it honestly hasn’t effected me that much. I decided to go and lay in a hammock and meditate and listen to music. After doing that for a bit I saw that some of my friends had gotten up, so we decided to go get some breakfast!

I got my first papaya salad. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t the biggest fan… I think I could like it in the right situation but I wasn’t in the mood for it.

After breakfast I hung out with my friends and I waited for Lola to get up so we could wander and get more food!

Big coffee fan!
Lola told me about this traditional Thai breakfast that’s basically just 2 soft boiled eggs in a cup. You’re supposed to put soy sauce and pepper on it and then gulp it down in one go! It actually was very yummy.

We also had a big tray of fruit, but I forgot to take a picture of it. The fruit in Thailand is absolutely wonderful! I was never a fan of mango and now I’m a HUGE mango fan.

After breakfast we wandered around and did a little bit of clothes shopping. I got this really fun button up that you’ll see in a later picture and Lola get a few things as well!

We then met back up with our squad of friends and motor biked out to the Pai Canyon! This ride was super easy in comparison to the caves we went to the day before and this canyon was SOOOO impressive!

This is my buddy Luke from Australia!

This canyon ended up actually having some very hard parts to climb and small areas to walk on with shear edges! It was a lot of fun but definitely not what I was expecting. This was such a fun excursion and a must see in Pai!

We then road back to our hostel and Lola, Lucy, and I ventured to find lunch. Lola told me her favorite dish was Thai cashew with tofu, I ended up getting one with chicken and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in Thailand so far!

This was sooo much food too

After lunch a very exciting thing happened! My friend Lucy let me borrow her motorbike and Lola taught me how to ride! I road around our hostel parking lot for a few minutes and then took the bike to the streets! We ended up riding around for 20 min and I got the hang of it! It was super fun riding around downtown Pai and getting over this fear of driving the bike!

I think riding on the back of Lola’s bike for the past week has helped a lot and I really appreciate her taking the time to teach me! Being able to ride a bike will be super helpful for when I split off and go south!

After lunch we went with our group to a place called Two Huts that overlooks Pai. It’s a great spot to watch the sunset! There were a ton of clouds and a light sprinkle of rain, but it was still a lovely time drinking a beer and hanging with this group for one final night!

We then ran back to catch the tail end of our hostels dinner, which I actually remembered to get a picture of this time!

Revolution Hostel’s Green Curry

The hostel set up a bar crawl for the hostel, but our crew didn’t want to do what they were doing (or pay for it). So we played some drinking games with the hostel residents. After they left I taught Lola how to shotgun a beer (there’s a video floating around but I don’t currently have it).

We then walked to the first bar of our night, a karaoke bar (that we were the only people in). My friends were super apprehensive at first but after a few drinks we were all singing, going crazy, and having a blast! It was such a wholesome way to end our time together.

After we got kicked out of the karaoke bar (yeah we sang till we shut it down) we made our way to the bar that the bar crawl was ending at!

This was a fun bar with a ping pong table, nice places to sit and chill, and also a DJ room playing heavy Drum and Base music. Lola and I also got a tofu wrap and a nice bucket of rum and coke 🤪

We ended up having yet another late night, but these nights have just been so amazing. And with this being the last night that our crew was all together, we had to go out with a bang!

Day 11 is another fun one and I look forward to sharing that with you soon 😁

Glad you all had a fun last night that was more than another bar crawl! Also I was hoping you’d learn to drive a moped before you split off from your buds! All sounds so good!!!!!
