The slowest Saturday night bar shift yet…

Day 347! A quick blog post for you all! Today was another day of relaxing and work, but I did make it out of the house again! But by the end of the day, we had a really slow work shift… which was quite odd for a summer Saturday night. I’m sure we won’t have many more of these.

I decided to lie in a little bit this morning again, but I wasn’t going to let that hold me back from going outside to read again!

I made myself breakfast, watched a couple episodes of My Hero Academia, and then set off out into the beautiful day.

Vegemite ❤

I hobbled my way up the steep hill to the park I sat in yesterday. The bench I was sitting at was being used for someone’s lunch, so I meandered around until I found a bench by itself in the shade.

It was a perfect day to go to the beach and I was definitely envious of everyone swimming in the ocean. But, this will have to do for the next two and a half weeks or so!

I read for a couple hours enjoying the wonderful weather and watching a bunch of opportunistic birds hop around from table to table.

I decided to head home around 2:30pm to eat and rest up before my work shift at 5pm. It’s Saturday night, so I was hoping it would be a hectic and fun shift…

After eating my tuna wraps and relaxing, it was time to head to the hotel.

By this point, it was VERY hot and humid out and I was sweating by the time I got to work. Luckily, we have a cool room which helped a ton. I clocked on ready for the fun to begin… but it ended up being an insanely slow night!

There were still plenty of people, but there was a fraction of the crowd we should’ve had. I heard the other main bar in town had a DJ playing tonight. But their loss, because we had a phenomenal blue grass band playing. They were super energized and had the whole band kit from fiddle to banjo.

I stayed till close and played a couple games of pool before getting a ride back home from one of my coworkers.

By this point, it was almost 2am… so I went straight to bed with plans to write this blog post in the morning! My shift tomorrow got moved from a 10am start to 11am, apparently you need 10 hours between each shift start. But I’ll happily take the extra sleep!

Glad you were able to enjoy the band! The boot will be off before you know it. Sounds like the weather is getting hot & steamy. Soon you will be back in the water
