Day 292! Today was a very lowkey and chill day. With having a jam packed weekend, this was bound to happen and it was very much needed. But, as most days in Australia so far, it was a very nice day nonetheless!
Well, after ANOTHER late night out, it was time for yet another sleep in. I enjoy spending time with my friends and late nights in the city, but I’m very much looking forward to less late nights out and more days spent on the beach!
But… I’m sure that I’ll have plenty of more late nights out with whatever new friends I make in Yamba.
I woke up around 10am, and I knew I probably wasn’t going to be able to rush breakfast in before the hostel closed the kitchen to be cleaned. So, I decided to slowly get myself ready for the day.
My first order of business was to do my laundry! I popped my dirty clothes into the washing machines, I got lucky that they were available when I wanted them!
I went to the TV room to wait for my clothes to be done and to wait for the kitchen to be ready. My friend Charlie gave me my next book to read, which is Dune! As I think I’ve said, I’ve been looking for Dune ever since I saw it in a hostel in Laos and passed it up. I was very excited to crack it open.

To be honest, it was a tough book to focus on in the TV room. It seems like it’s a bit convoluted, but I’ll stick it out! One of my hostel mates, James, was watching Batman Begins, the first of the Dark Night trilogy. It’d been a long time since I’d watched it and it kept distracting me.
So I put my book down and watched for a bit. Eventually my laundry was ready to flip, so I did that and then went to go make breakfast.

Yesterday, there were eggs on the free food shelf in the hostel. I guess someone left before finishing their eggs, so I cooked up my first fried eggs in a while!
I also made a bowl of oats before putting away my laundry and heading back to the TV room. This time though, it wasn’t for reading.
My friend Lewis was wanting to binge watch more of the TV show Lost. I’ve been enjoying watching with him and he waited for me to join him to watch more.
We watched a number of episodes and then Lewis went off to go to a climbing gym. I took my book to the park and read for about an hour… but, I started to feel really tired (which makes sense after the past two nights).
I walked back to the hostel and took a short power nap.
When I woke up, I was hungry. So I headed down to the kitchen to make some food with the groceries I had left… which meant, quesadillas time!

After I ate, I decided to go on a walk to Aldi. I wanted to spend more time outside and I also needed a few more things to get me through my last couple of meals at the mansion. I also grabbed some snacks for my long travel journey I have ahead of me.
When I got back, I made myself a couple of tuna sandwiches and chatted with my friends Charlie and Lewis. We then went back to the TV room where I spent the rest of my night.
Lewis and I watched more of Lost. When he went to bed, I realized there were new episodes to a TV show I like called Outer Banks. So I watched the first episode of that.
I was about to call it a night, when I walked into the kitchen to fill my water bottle. My friend Samantha and one of her other French friends were making crepes and they insisted I have one. It was very delicious and made me miss all of my rotis and pancakes in SE Asia.
I thanked them and turned in for the night. Tomorrow is going to be my last day in Melbourne and the only plan I have so far is to have dinner with my friends Dom and Casey!
We’ll see what else I get up to… but I bet it’ll involve packing and chilling out! The nerves and excitement are building up for this next move!
