Day 109! Today ended up being a very nice and pleasant day that included a bit of exploring! I also got to go back to China Town and enjoy the craziness of there too.
Dan, Sam, and I agreed the night before that we were going to sleep in today. So we turned off our alarms and rolled out of bed at 10:30am.

We wanted to try a new restaurant for breakfast and wandered further into the city. After walking for a while, we found a food stand on the corner of a street.

The temperature in Bangkok today was super hot and already rising as we sat and ate. So we made our way back to the hostel and stopped by our friends at the smoothie stand.

I decided to try a cantaloupe smoothie and it was pretty good! I wish there was a honeydew one because I’d love to try one of those.
We hung out at the hostel for a bit. And then decided to call a grab to the largest market in Bangkok, the Chatuchak Weekend Market. We also were planning on meeting our friend Abi!

This market was jammed packed! It apparently boasts 15,000 vendor stalls. The inside was a maze of different nicknacks, clothing items, and the occasional food stand. But the outside was littered with different foods to choose from..
I enjoyed some vegi spring rolls and a very spicy bowl of Tom Yum with fish.
We shopped around and hung out at the market for around 4 hours! It still felt like we hadn’t seen it all.
We parted ways with Abi and her friend Claudia. They’re about to head south so we said our see you laters and we’ll see when our paths cross in the future. Our group is slowly starting to spread out, which is a little sad, but I’m also excited for some more solo travel time and time with my cousins!
Our next stop of the night was to Bangkok’s China town! We saw that there was a metro line nearby, so we decided to check that out instead of ordering a grab!

This isn’t something I did last time I was in Bangkok. But the whole experience was fairly straightforward! The trains were packed and it was cool to ride some of the local transit.
We arrived at the Wat Mangkon stop and walked straight into the thick of things in China town!
The streets were crowded with people and food stands. It was a hectic place to be!

While in China town, I enjoyed a bowl of duck with noodles. It was quite good, but left me hungry for something sweet. I ended up satisfying this craving with a Thai coconut pancake (coconut and black rice cake).
We started making our way back to the hostel when I found a fruit that caught my eye! Turned out, this was the fruit I’ve been looking for, a plango.

The sherbet from the other day was much sweeter, but this was still nice to try!
We hung out in China town for an hour before deciding to walk back to the hostel. This walk ended up taking around 40 minutes, but we got to weave through some quiet streets and see some pretty architecture.

I was still hungry by the time we got back to our hostel. So I decided to go grab another smoothie and a cheap pad Thai as a late night snack.

After finishing it was time for bed! It had been a long day of walking around everywhere. It’s also officially one week till my cousins come!
I have a lot to look forward to but for now, I have plenty of fun days to come in this crazy city.
